Bruco peloso lungo fino a 4 cm, con corpo grigio scuro e bande arancioni laterali. Ricoperto da migliaia di peli urticanti, visibili come una fitta peluria.

Presente in tutta l’area mediterranea, si trova su pini e, più raramente, su cedri. Colonizza anche zone urbane e giardini.

🐛 Comportamento
Nota per la marcia in fila indiana (da cui il nome), scende dagli alberi in primavera per interrarsi. Le larve vivono in nidi sericei visibili sui rami.

Known for its single-file processions (hence the name), it descends trees in spring to pupate underground. Larvae live in silky nests on branches.
