Non è fantascienza. Ci sono insetti là fuori che sembrano disegnati da uno sceneggiatore di film horror. E no, non vivono solo in angoli remoti del mondo: alcuni potrebbero essere nel tuo giardino!
1. Giant Weta – Il grillo gigante della Nuova Zelanda
Un insetto che può pesare più di un passerotto. È così grande che mangia una carota intera in un morso.
2. Amblypygi – Il ragno frusta
Non è un ragno, non è uno scorpione, ma ha zampe gigantesche e si muove come in un film alieno. Vive anche in alcune grotte italiane!
3. Botfly – La mosca parassita umana
Depone le uova sotto pelle… e le larve si nutrono di tessuti vivi. No comment.
4. Vespa mandarinia – Il calabrone gigante asiatico
Una puntura può uccidere. In Giappone causa decine di morti all’anno.
5. Assassin bug – L’insetto assassino
Si nutre succhiando il contenuto liquido delle sue prede. Macabro? Sì. Affascinante? Anche.

Feeds by liquefying its prey from the inside out. Macabre? Definitely. Fascinating? Totally.
