The Goliath Beetle (genus Goliathus) is one of the largest and heaviest insects on Earth. Native to tropical Africa, these beetles can reach up to 11 centimeters in length and weigh over 100 grams!
Their strong exoskeleton and powerful legs help them climb trees and feed on sap and fruits. The males have impressive horns used for fighting rivals during mating season.
Despite their size and strength, Goliath Beetles are harmless to humans and are fascinating examples of nature’s engineering.
