Cleo was not your ordinary click beetle. She loved surprises, especially the big “click” jump she could perform to startle predators — or just to have fun.
One sunny morning, Cleo decided to show off her skills to the garden crowd. She climbed up a twig, took a deep breath, and click! — launched herself into the air with a spectacular flip.
The crowd gasped, but Cleo missed her landing and ended up in a puddle of mud!
“Oh no!” she laughed, shaking off the dirt. “Maybe I need more practice.”
The ants nearby cheered, “That was the best jump ever, Cleo!”
From then on, Cleo became the garden’s favorite entertainer, combining grace with a bit of muddy fun.
