The wind carried pollen and whispers of change through the forest. Arturo, now a symbol of hope, journeyed with the Mandiblade strapped to his back and fireflies lighting his path.
His first stop: the Hive Citadel.
Buzzing with disciplined energy, the honeybees greeted Arturo with suspicion. Queen Melaria, adorned in waxen gold, fluttered down from her throne of combs.
“You seek unity?” she hummed. “We do not forget the war of wings. The wasps still sting us in dreams.”
Arturo bowed deeply. “The world is changing. Alone, we fall. But together… we rise.”
The queen studied him. Then, with a regal nod, she extended a drop of royal jelly. “We shall watch. But trust must be earned, little beetle.”
Next: the Ant Tunnels of Redroot.
In the echoing chambers below the soil, Arturo faced General Formax, a battle-hardened ant with a chip in his mandible.
“Peace?” Formax barked. “We march, we conquer. That is the ant way!”
Arturo drew the Mandiblade—but not to fight. He plunged it into the earth. A beam of green light burst upward, revealing roots, water, and tunnels… all interconnected.
“Look how nature is one,” Arturo said. “Why not us?”
The ant general hesitated… then saluted. “You speak with roots and reason. We will send one regiment. For now.”
Finally, Arturo ventured to the forgotten treetops where the Spiders dwelled.
Suspended in silk, Queen Arakna eyed him with eight skeptical eyes.
“You expect us to trust… anyone?”
Arturo looked her straight in the eyes. “I don’t ask you to trust. I ask you to hope.”
After a pause thick as webbing, she lowered herself beside him. “Then let’s see where hope takes us.”
By dusk, insects from every corner began arriving at the Great Stump, the chosen meeting place. Bees hovered, ants marched, fireflies danced, spiders weaved banners of silver thread.
The clans were gathering.
And Arturo? He stood tall, heart pounding, Mandiblade humming with ancient power.
