Today, I examined how insects and plants communicate chemically to facilitate pollination. Flowers produce specific scents that attract particular pollinators, guiding them to nectar rewards.
Insects, in turn, use their chemical senses to identify the best flowers. Some even collect and use floral chemicals for mating or defense.
This intricate chemical dialogue ensures the survival of both plants and insect pollinators.
