I Pokémon non sono solo fantasia: molti di loro sono ispirati a veri insetti, così strani, colorati e spettacolari da sembrare creature di un mondo parallelo. Ecco 5 insetti che potrebbero tranquillamente far parte del Pokédex.
1. Chrysina limbata – Lo Scarabeo Specchio
Questo coleottero del Centro America ha un guscio argentato e lucente che riflette la luce come un metallo fuso. Potrebbe essere un’evoluzione rara di Magnemite, o una forma shiny di Scyther.
2. Phylliidae – Le foglie viventi
Questi insetti sembrano foglie vere, complete di nervature e macchie da “invecchiamento”. Un perfetto esempio di mimetismo. Potrebbero essere la forma base di un Pokémon erba tipo Leafeon.
3. Megalopyge opercularis – Il bruco assassino
Sembra un batuffolo di cotone… ma è uno degli insetti più velenosi del mondo. I suoi peli rilasciano tossine che causano dolore estremo. Sarebbe un perfetto Pokémon velenoso con l’abilità “Controveleno”.
4. Pterochroza ocellata – L’insetto che si finge foglia e farfalla
Di giorno è una foglia. Ma se minacciato, spalanca le ali mostrando due enormi occhi finti. Potrebbe essere un Pokémon doppio tipo: erba/spettro, con mosse come “Mimetismo Totale”.
5. Goliathus goliatus – Il Titano della Giungla
Uno dei più grandi coleotteri del mondo, con corna e corazza spessa. Sarebbe un tipo coleottero/lotta con mosse potenti come “Spaccaroccia” e “Forza Bruta”.

1. Chrysina limbata – The Mirror Beetle
This Central American beetle has a shiny, metallic silver shell that reflects light like molten chrome. It could be a rare evolution of Magnemite, or a shiny form of Scyther.
2. Phylliidae – The Living Leaves
These insects look exactly like real leaves, complete with veins and discolorations. A perfect example of camouflage. They could be the base form of a grass-type like Leafeon.
3. Megalopyge opercularis – The Killer Caterpillar
It looks like a fluffy cotton ball… but it’s one of the most venomous insects on Earth. Its hairs deliver toxins that cause intense pain. A perfect poison-type Pokémon with the “Poison Touch” ability.
4. Pterochroza ocellata – The Leaf-Fairy Insect
By day it’s a leaf. But when threatened, it unfolds its wings to reveal giant fake eyes. It could be a dual-type Pokémon: grass/ghost, with moves like “Ultimate Mimic”.
5. Goliathus goliatus – Jungle Titan
One of the largest beetles on Earth, with horns and armor. It would be a bug/fighting type with powerhouse moves like “Rock Smash” and “Brute Force”.

The truth is, many insects are already perfect Pokémon, and the franchise creators know it. From Butterfree to Beedrill, many Pokémon are born straight out of entomology.
