A scream echoed through the hedge labyrinth. A red mark stained a leaf — round, wet, and terrifying.

“Blood?” whispered Glint.

“No… sap,” Dracula Bugs replied, dipping a claw into the mark and sniffing. “But… unnatural. Something added to it.”

They followed a trail of crimson spots. Hidden behind curled ivy leaves, they found the source: an assassin bug, cloaked in thorns, sipping from an aphid.

“Not a crime,” said Dracula Bugs, “just nature. But why the trail?”

The assassin bug hissed. “A message for the spiders. A declaration. This hedge is mine.”

Dracula Bugs stepped forward. “Insect territories shift like wind. But if you start painting borders in blood, you’ll awaken something worse.”
The assassin bug paused, uneasy.

That night, the stains were gone. Washed clean by dew. But Dracula Bugs left a note scratched into bark:
“Rule in silence, or don’t rule at all.”
